December 2007 Newsletter
Georgia Flyers
President’s Letter

This is my last newsletter as president of the Georgia Flyers. The last two years have gone by very quickly, a virtual whirlwind of activities. We have seen many changes, adventures and fun activities over that time. Several new members have joined our ranks, adding to our social group. We have seen growth and increased interest in Paul and Sherri’s Lunch-Bunch activities. We have also reorganized our governance structure in order to better manage the affairs of our organization. Through all of this, I appreciate your support and dedication to making our organization successful.  I wish all of you a peaceful and happy holiday season and a prosperous new year.  I look forward to many more flying trips with you in coming years.

Meeting News.  We held our final meeting of the year at one of the Georgia Flyer's favorite locations, Petite Auberge, where we had our own private room for socializing.  We welcomed 36 members and guests, including long-time members Harold and Helen Zeller and Harvey and Sylvia Merrill.  We also held our 2008 officer elections during the meeting.  The 2007 committee members were re-elected and Sherri Platt was unanimously elected as president for 2008. We will honor the services of the 2007 officers at the January 2008 kick-off meeting.

The next meeting will be the 2008 kick-off meeting in January. The time and place have not yet been determined. So stay tuned for more information.

Lunch-Bunch News.  The last Lunch-Bunch of the year is the annual trek to Jekyll Island, Georgia (09J) scheduled for Sunday, December 2nd.  Sherri already has an email out regarding this event, so check your email. This will be the third year for this favorite destination, so you won’t want to miss it.
