Monthly Recap.  There have been a few events during the months of June and July. The major event was our June annual picnic. This also coincided (by plan) with the June Lunch-Bunch outing.  We had a great turnout, maybe our best yet, at the picnic. A contributing factor may have been the free food that our board of directors approved.  We also had games for adults and the children, great food, and lots of socializing. We even got to renew friendships with several of our members that have not been to our recent meetings. All of our thanks go out to Carol Comer and Carolyn Deering for planning and executing another great Georgia Flyers event.

In July, the Lunch-Bunch flew to the Bonanza museum at Tullahoma, TN, for lunch and a museum tour. The event was hosted by Harold Bost. Thanks Harold for stepping up.

Trip News.  We have two trips remaining this year. The first is to Destin, Florida, October 5 – 7, to the annual seafood festival. This trip is hosted by Keeley and Nita Miller. They have asked me and put out information that there is still room on the trip, but time is running out on getting hotel reservations.  As you might suspect, Destin is a popular place and we need to release the rooms soon. If you have already signed up for the trip but have not yet made your reservations, please do so right away.  If you have not signed up but want to go, call Keeley and Nita at 678-838-9071.

The final trip of the year will be to Pigeon Forge, November 9 – 11^th, to see the Christmas lights and enjoy the holiday festivities. Carolyn Deering is the trip coordinator.  If you have not signed up for that trip please give Carolyn a call at 770-321-93890.

Lunch-Bunch News.  The next Lunch-Bunch outing will be at on Saturday, August 18^th at Cordele, GA (KCKF).  Sherri and Paul will have more details in their standard monthly Lunch-Bunch email.

Social Events.  John and Stephanie Horton are hosting our August social event Sunday, August 5^th. If you read this and have not yet called Stephanie but want to attend, call her right away to see if they can accommodate you.

Paul and Sherri Platt are hosting a barbeque social on Saturday, September 1^st.  Put this on your calendars. Paul and Sherri will have more information coming soon on that event.

Meeting News.  Our next official meeting will be on Saturday, November 3rd at 5 pm at one of our old favorites, Petite Auberge.  Please get this on your calendars to reserve the evening. Note that this is a change from the original October 27^th date in the website calendar. Petite Auberge was not able to accommodate us that evening. We will also be holding our annual election of club officers at that meeting.  We have need new blood in our club steering committee. This will give you an opportunity to put your ideas into practice for improving our club.  We need fresh ideas to keep our organization vibrant.  If you would consider serving your fellow club members in any capacity, please call or email me or Jim Turner.  More information on the meeting will be forthcoming.

Membership Directory.  Membership directories were distributed at the June picnic.  Directories will be mailed in the next week to those members who were not in attendance.
