There will be no scheduled meeting in July. As a reminder, the annual EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh will be July 24-30. I know that Jim Turner and Sandy Thomas are planning to attend. If you need information, I am sure that either of them would be glad to answer your questions. Sandy is an experienced Air Venture camper, so he has a wealth of information on Oshkosh.
It is time to also start planning for our next trips. The calendar at http://www.georgiaflyers.org/calendar.htm gives the rundown of our future events. We are planning for our 8-10 September trip to Franklin, Pennsylvania, hosted by Sam DiGiammarino. Following that will be our next Great Southeastern Air Tour featuring airports in Tennessee, also hosted by Sam and his committee. This will be our first air tour of Tennessee, so you won't want to miss that one. As always, you can make your reservations by email at reservations@georgiaflyers.org, or by contacting Sam directly.
Lunch-Bunch News. The next Lunch-Bunch event is planned for Saturday, July 15th at Winder, GA (KWDR) from 11:00 - 2:00. The Spitfire Deli is at the approach end of runway five. Contact Sherri Platt with headcount if you're interested in joining the group by July 12th by emailing her at lunchbunch@georgiaflyers.org.
Meeting News. Our next get together and meeting will be at our Summer Dinner Dance on Saturday, August 19th at St. Ives Country Club, hosted by Paul and Sherri Platt. More information will be forthcoming next month, but get this event on your calendar. You will not want to miss it. The evening will begin with socializing and cocktails at 6 pm, followed by dinner, dancing and more socializing until 11 pm. Invitations will be mailed to each member and reservations are made by mailing a check to the name and address listed on the invitation. This party is taking the place of our Christmas holiday party as that was becoming increasingly more difficult and expensive to schedule.
Meet a Member. This month, we are featuring new members Jeff and Gisele Frame. Jeff was born in Darien, CT, and grew up just outside Chicago, IL, where he graduated from the University of Illinois with an Engineering degree. He participated in Naval ROTC throughout college, and served 6 years as a Naval Aviator. Jeff works as a Private Financial Advisor for SunTrust. Besides flying, Jeff's other hobbies include windsurfing, swimming, volleyball and fixing anything that moves.

Gisele was born and raised in Albany, NY. She graduated from Russell Sage College with a degree in marketing. She is an avid runner and a part-time actress with many theatrical performances to her credit. You may have caught her playing "Mrs. Frank" in BigTop Theatre's recent production of The Diary of Anne Frank. She also volunteers at the Georgia Radio Reading Service, recording a weekly radio program for the blind. Gisele is employed as an IT Manager for Cingular Wireless. Jeff and Gisele married in Gisele's home town of Albany, NY and moved to Atlanta in 1995. |
Along with member Dick Lyon, Jeff is in a 3-person partnership in a Cessna 172. Jeff and Gisele try to take cross country trips every weekend the plane is available. Some of their more recent trips have been to Naples, Key West, St. Augustine, Destin, Jekyll Island, Birmingham, and Charleston as well as to Louisville with the Georgia Flyers. They are always looking for suggestions on interesting places to visit, and look forward to future trips with the Flyers.

I am also looking for volunteers to be the subject(s) of the monthly Meet a Member article. It is easy and painless. Just give me your background information and a photo if available and that is it. Please let me know if you would be willing to participate.
Stay tuned next month, when John and Stephanie Horton will be the subjects of our next "Meet a Member" article.
