President’s Letter

The Christmas Party was a great success and was well attended. Thanks to the 2005 Executive Committee and Board for approving the $10.00 subsidy for each member attending the Christmas Party.

Thanks to the 2006 steering committee members for volunteering to oversee club functions. We are trying a new method of steering the club by using the committee to take the actions necessary to ensure quality trips and meetings for all of our members. The committee members are Paul and Sherri Platt (overseeing trips and "Lunch-Bunch" outings), John and Diana Jones and John Horton (Georgia Flyers website maintenance), and Dan Barta (programs). I also want to mention Jim Turner, who has volunteered to be the chairman of the board for 2006. A special thanks to Paul Gundermann for volunteering to continue to serve as our treasurer.

We all owe many thanks to Dick Malone who picked up the ball and ran with it to keep our club alive and well during 2005. Thanks Dick.

For those of you who have not yet renewed your memberships for 2006, I encourage you to do so as soon as possible by sending in your application and check to Sam DiGiammarino. We have a great lineup of activities, trips and one-day outings that will appeal to all of our members. One of our goals is to increase membership, and we depend on each of you to renew and then help us attract new members.

I look forward to enjoying flying and socializing with all of you during an exciting 2006.

January Program

The Georgia Flyers invite members and guests to attend its 2006 Kickoff Lunch, Sunday, January 22 at 12:30 p.m. at The Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant.

Please plan on being at the restaurant no later than 12:30 p.m. so that menu choices may be ordered. The banquet room will be open at 12:00 noon for socializing.

Cost $19.00 per person.

Checks payable to The Georgia Flyers. Please have your checks or cash ready to give to our treasurer at the restaurant upon arrival.

Menu choices will be:

  • Spaghetti with Meatballs
  • Incredible 15-Layer Lasagna
  • Four Cheese Manicotti
  • Fettuccini Alfredo
  • Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad
Desserts:
  • Cheesecake
  • Tiramisu
  • Lemon Berry Tiramisu
  • Brownie
  • Chocolate Sundae

All entrees include a crisp house salad, freshly baked sourdough bread and choice of soft drink.

You will give your order to the waiter at the restaurant.
