Georgia Flyers

President’s Letter

The Georgia Flyers are off to a great start in 2006 with the completion of a very successful kickoff meeting on Sunday, January 22nd at the Spaghetti Warehouse on Delk Road. We had 52 members and guests in attendance, including two new members, who enjoyed socializing, great food, and surprise entertainment when our own Dick Lyon sang "Our Old Kentucky Home" for the crowd. We were then entertained by this year's trip captains presenting their exciting trips to exotic, romantic, weekend getaways. As a result, the Louisville, Kentucky trip is already full with a list of standbys. We also have several other trips, some spanning only two-day weekends so that those limited in time can participate. There are only a few openings left on the other trips, so review the schedule on the website and contact the persons listed to register for the trips. Hurry! They won't last long!

Along with the trips, we also have a great lineup of programs, activities and yet to be determined "Lunch-Bunch" weekend lunch outings. The steering committee has endeavored to plan events that appeal to a wide variety of interests, time, and resources. So take a look and dive in. We're looking forward to learning more about each of you during our trips and outings.

The main February event is a tour of the Atlanta TRACON arranged by John Dennis. The instructions and directions are on the website. There are a few seats left, so sign up quickly. John can only accommodate 25 people, and this is an opportunity that does not come available often.

I look forward to seeing you on the TRACON tour and the February "Lunch-Bunch" outing.

Keep 'em flying,
Ron Deering
