Established in 1953, our 60 plus member non-profit organization continues to be one of the most active social flying groups in the U.S. The goals of the organization are to encourage the use of general aviation aircraft, to foster interest and enjoyment of flying by family members, to promote safety in flying, and to encourage improvement in flying skills. The Georgia Flyers sponsor 4-6 weekend trips per year. Each trip is planned as an interesting and fun location for the enjoyment of our spouses and friends as well as an interesting flying destination for the pilot. Each trip is planned by a trip captain who will schedule the activities, accommodations and special events. Your job is to enjoy! The trip schedule includes long trips (in excess of 500 miles), shorter trips of 200 miles or less, and a few one-day trips. Recent distant trips have included Ohio, Nova Scotia, Virginia, Cape Cod and the Bahamas. Shorter trips have included St. Mary’s, Dauphin Island, Cedar Key and Disney World, Orlando. Join now, there are trips and social events to interest everyone!
